Chanaz Oil Mill
House - Mill - Historic patrimony
free price
Overlooking the village of Chanaz, the last 3 water mills, dating from 1868, await you. Surrounded by the smell of crushed and heated walnuts, you can listen to the miller tell you about his trade.

Overlooking the village of Chanaz, you will explore this oil mill, still in use today. Drawn in by the scent of nuts, you will enter a place where time stands still!
You can see the work of the mill-worker, who will be sharing their passion: work done according to the rules of the craft and respecting tradition.
At the end of the visit, you will have the opportunity to try freshly-pressed oil, and taste the different nut jams. Don't forget to taste the caramelised nuts!
The mill has been restored and classed as a historic monument. The mill-worker uses traditional techniques, to the backdrop of the purring of cogs transferring hydraulic energy. These processes produce excellent nut oils, with colours and aromas thought to have been lost forever... and let's not forget the mustards and jams!
