Church of Notre Dame d'Aix-les-Bains

Religious heritage - Church

free price

Opened in 1899, the current church was built in the Roman-Byzantine style by the architect Arthur Berlin. Its eastern wall is illuminated by stained-glass windows made by Bégule, a master glass-maker from Lyon, some based on the designs of Eugène Grasset.
The former Eglise Notre-Dame, located on the square in front of the Arc de Campanus, became too small, so a new church was built in the Roman-Byzantine style by the architect Arthur Berlin, and opened in 1899. Its eastern wall is lit up by stained-glass windows made by Bégule, a master glass-maker from Lyon, following the 'art nouveau' designs of Eugène Grasset.
Classical music concerts are held here.
