At the foot of the highest peak in the Bauges, the Arcalod, this family friendly hike takes you into the Orgeval valley in the heart of the National Hunting and Wildlife Reserve.
Hush, a chamois may be watching you walk!
The start of the hike is quite steep, but don't be discouraged! You are in the shade in the forest, accompanied by the song of the nant which flows below.
On the final climb to the pass, take a moment to admire the scenery and listen to the whistling of the marmots.
Here you are in the heart of the Hunting and Wildlife National Reserve where it is not uncommon to see chamois and mouflons.

Caution! On this route, you will cross mountain pastures.
Herds may be present, watched over by patous (herding dogs). Be vigilant. Before setting off, find out how to behave in the presence of patous and remember to close the fences behind you so that the animals do not escape.
This itinerary crosses the Hautes Bauges wildlife reserve, dogs are prohibited.
